I love to go for long rides in the car, but until I purchased a car lumbar support, I was not always comfortable when I traveled. Most automobile manufacturers install a car lumbar support in the driver’s seat. Many offer the feature in the front passenger seat as well. Sometimes, this luxury costs extra. Other times, it is a standard feature. It just depends on which make and model you choose. It also depends on the year of the vehicle. Most late model vehicles have the feature. If you purchase a new vehicle, you should know whether you car, truck, or SUV has lumbar supports. If you purchase a used vehicle, you may not have an owner’s manual to refer to. If you look on the side of the seat, there may be a knob or a lever that indicates that the feature is present. This device allows you to use the support when you wish to. With a flip of the switch, the lower portion of the seat will expand to better fit the small of your back. If your vehicle does not come equipped with a car lumbar support, you do not have to run to the nearest dealership and trade it in. That is an option, but it is not necessary, unless you are ready for a new vehicle. You can purchase a support at auto parts stores and discount stores. Of course, you will have to place the aftermarket support on your seat, and it will not be operated by a knob or a lever alongside the seat, but you will get the same effect from it as you would if it were installed inside the seat by the manufacturer.
